The Marathon Scrapbook goes into a bit of detail on the Nar (page 17): they're a bunch of immortals who are roughly the age of the universe; their entire homeworld is effectively a three-story fort, they spell "Commandos" with a K, and forgot to make a written language.

I think the Nakh were said to be a "client" (slave) race of the Pfhor? All we know about Nebulons is that their descriptions of things is rather verbose; Vylae, nada.

As far as "what do you think" goes, I can't help but see the Vylae as moth-people. At least, one strain of Vylae. They've got fifteen planets; they can't all be moths.
