: It could certainly fit in with the S'pht creation myth.

I always interpreted the treasures as being the dreams of the Dreaming God. It kind of adds an interesting twist that its unconscious thoughts would produce items that could lead to its defeat. It's almost as if the Dreaming God secretly doubts itself and this doubt manifests itself as the tools to undermine its power.
