That is revisionist history promulgated by the contemporary company that has the Bungie name but almost no old Bungie people.

Gnop! and ODS have Bungie logos in their about boxes. Bungie Software Products Corporation may not have been legally founded yet, but everything since Gnop! was published under the name Bungie.

I suppose it's possible that Alex retained full ownership of everything developed before the founding of BSPC and that he took that with him when he left Bungie, in which case perhaps the current legal entity with the Bungie name can't claim to have developed those games. But just because the-legal-entity-currently-known-as-Bungie can't claim to have developed those games, doesn't change the fact that those games were published under the name Bungie.
