Halo could have 5D space if the designers wanted but it would be harder to implement in a 3D engine. the 5D mazes in Marathon didn't make use of 3D up and down space or at least the illusion of it on top of pocket dimensions like a super-plexus ball as made by the Doctor. However, halo couldn't do that if you had no map and making sense of a true 5D maze in Marathon would be tricky what with the spaghetti mess that the map can become. (I'm looking square at you: Aye Mak Sicur)

It's the monitor's name, but they named the level after him due to his introduction at the end (minus Halo CEA's terminals). 343 Industries who make Halo now, were named after him too.

I don't think you get hunter or jackal Flood. the Looker/Nightmare cauliflower guys are carrier forms; basically the standard human and elite combat forms turned into walking seed pods.

They're quite easy to kill if you have a plasma grenade and a shotgun. throw the grenade and blast it in what used to be its face and body and your grenade will go off when the thing dies, killing the infection forms (cough... headcrabs... cough. cough.) inside.

In Halo 3, you get Brute combat forms and shapeshifting Flood, and Halo 2 introduced the Gravemind: the Flood's "brain" so to speak. He looks like a zombie Audrey II as made by Japanese pornographers in Halo 2 but in Halo 2 Anniversary, he is remodelled to look like a giant Shoggoth with millions of large teeth.
