In Response To: Let's Play Halo: Combat Evolved — Pillar of Autumn (VikingBoyBilly) It was cool to see this coming up, having as I've just played through Halo CE within the Master Chief Collection, including mainly playing with the Anniversary graphics, which are quite incredible in how they change things, albeit with some liberties taken, but also switching back to the old graphics for achievements and such. Plus looking up how and making sure to collect all of the skulls that were added in that Anniversary treatment. In the Halo 2 Anniversary treatment, they have gone a few steps further, with the cutscenes actually being acted out ... what an undertaking! A couple of things on this level, and without having read through all responses too thoroughly. This seems easy on legendary??? That's crazy talk. I did the first few levels coop on legendary the other night, and that was bad enough, but don't really want to go near it solo. Having checkpoints rather than pattern buffers increases the difficulty a lot over anything Marathon could throw at us, and the enemies are a lot smarter than they ever were there, including the use of cover that becomes a big part of the game. I enjoyed your Windows install story. A lot of games from those days don't even recognise more than like 512MB of RAM. Or more than a few GB of hard drive space sometimes - had that with Warlords III back in the day, claiming on launch that the HD was almost full, when it blatantly was not. As for saved games in the game folder ... not without running as administrator! Windows saving you from yourself :). The manual text was interesting to see, not sure if it's in MCC anywhere, but I hadn't read it anyway. Reach is mentioned right up front! And it's the only game now that isn't in the MCC. Never mind. As for your saying there feels like some non-linearity in the corridors and such ... that'll only last a few levels. Then it's a copy/paste fest through the end. As for the level names, it seems various sections of each level have section titles, but the second level overall is called Halo, just to make things ever so confusing!
