Err, wait, WHAT?! That's totally backwards and then some. First off; both variants, blue and red (sorry, I always see them as blue, not violet), have shielding. Secondly, the red ones have even better shielding than the blue ones. Thirdly, you make it almost sound like the red ones are easy pickings, but in fact they're some of the most dangerous enemies you'll ever meet, especially on Legendary - their rate of fire with a plasma rifle is downright scary, and the only good way to deal with them is with A) plasma weapons (to tear off their shielding and allow for a quick melee kill), B) a high-power weapon like a Sniper Rifle, Rocket Launcher, or Shotgun, or C) grenades, preferably plasma.
So, yeah, you were totally giving the wrong impression there when you said "red ones are shieldless."
