You inferred that from the "We have contacted S'bboath" line? I assumed that just meant they sent a message or signal to s'bbuth or something; I never thought S'bbuth said anything back, but I guess that's plausible with FTL communication. I thought Thoth had awareness of the W'rk even since he was reactivated in M2 and that was partly why he tried to help the pfhor side in the end to escape 'for the balance' or whatever: to prevent them from from desperately firing the Trih Xeem that would disrupt the balance of the universe. The end terminal in Aye Mak Sicur shows even the Thoth side is surprised that they found nothing in the Lh'owon star, so he doesn't fully understand what the thing is or if it's even real (when talking about a being of chaos, what constitutes reality?)
