Cortana is a fictional character in a video game, she DOES NOT exist in real life. Still, in the video game she's an actual Artificial Intelligence, that can appear as a hologram of a good looking human female.
The most we know so far about what Microsoft is doing with their phones is using the NAME Cortana for their phone "digital assistant". It's NOT an actual AI, and so far it does NOT look like the Halo character nor it sounds like her. THAT is what I mean by: it is NOT Cortana.
Having said that, I never named my computer "Durandal", just in case. You never know.
