Hmmm, are you sure? I'm looking specifically at the AR sprite, and the similar two-handed weapons. Look at the one on the far left. When he is facing directly forward, he's using his left hand for the trigger, then in sprites facing other ways, he's using his right hand. Of course, these are just mirrored, so his hand will change depending on whether the angle is to the right or left. But it seems odd that, when showing his front, they chose to make him left-handed, whereas he appears to be right-handed from behind.
