: I downloaded and watched both his Bob-B-Q videos (it was the video on the tip
: page you were thinking of). I see what he was doing with the Hunter
: punching, instead of doing a run-punch for each right and left stroke, he
: was run-punching to the right and jabbing them with his left as he
: backpedaled. Clever, as there is no way in those tight corridors to do a
: right then left run-punch. Not that there is much point in my getting
: better at Marathon at this point, but technique added. Thanks for the
: referral!
Slight bit of digression, I know, but Jim Mitchell is truly inspiring in terms of technique. If you watch his films of Six Thousand Feet Under or Sorry Don't Make It So, you can see that he figures out the 'groove' of each monster and exploits it to its fullest. With F'lickta, it's dodge right, punch, move left, punch, dodge right, punch, move left, etc. With Cyborgs, he just circles around continually, punching as fast as he can and ensuring that every grenade they fire ends up going to his left. It's consistent, simple, fluid, and reliable. Truly impressive, IMHO.
