: Well I for one would like to see this. Indeed, I would be more interested in
: hearing their views on suicide traps in games. Marathon has its fair share
: of suicide traps (i.e. areas on a level where once you access the only way
: out is to kill yourself and start from your last saved game). Do modern
: games, like Halo, have these?
The only places in Halo like this that I can think of are on The Library and Assault on the Control Room. There's a few shafts, particularly a central one, that you can hop down to. Not sure if it's possible to survive the fall to the bottom of the elevator shafts, but there is a short article on reaching the bottom of the central one. I would assume there is no way back out once you're down there, making it kind of a suicide trap.
If you do a bridge descent on Assault on the Control Room (which is much easier using PAL Xbox than NTSC or PC), you can steal a Banshee later on and use it to get to high places. If you happen to knock the Banshee off, it becomes kind of a suicide trap. You don't really even need to do a bridge descent. You can steal a Banshee from just before the two-Wraith area, or, if you're fast enough, from the rock bridge in the final third of the level. No matter how you get your Banshee, there are certainly ways to put yourself into a suicide trap.
