In Response To: Re: Defend This! (Narcogen)

: True, but I think what Hamish meant was situations where just making a
: mistake, or failing to execute a required move during the normal course of
: gameplay results in a situation where suicide is required (even when it's
: impossible). Halo has relatively few of those-- the AotCR ones you mention
: require actions Bungie did not anticipate, like Banshee stealing, and they
: break all sorts of things in the campaign play.

In that case, I don't really know of any situations like that. On the other hand, Bungie clearly did anticipate us being able to steal a Banshee on the rock bridge at the end of the game, because otherwise they wouldn't have put the 'Siege of Madrigal trigger' at such a high place. Nevertheless, I can't think of anything in Halo that comes even close to the Deprivation Chamber. There are no potential suicide traps other than the ones I mentioned earlier, as far as I know. And the ones they did notice are probably prevented with stuff like kill-zones or some such thing (not sure if there is such a thing as a kill-zone in the original Halo, to be honest).

Vale,
Perseus
