PID 1.2 released
Posted By: Mark LevinDate: 5/6/13 8:49 p.m.

In Response To: PID for OS X (Godot)

• Fixed crash when dragging inventory items.
• Items may now be dragged to specific places within containers.
• Dragging inventory items now pauses the game.

The Inventory should now be almost 100% back to its original feature set. The only thing you can't do is drag an item to the very end of a container. The original inventory code expects that to happen when an item is dropped directly onto a container, but the OS X outline view doesn't have an "onto" operation- you can only drop it as the first item inside the container, which was a distinct operation to the original. I'll continue looking at this, but every complaint that has been aired on this forum should be addressed now.

• Ornate Glass Vial now displays message when double-clicked.

This is a very minor bug I found the other day. Double-clicking on the Ornate Glass Vial in the original game produces absolutely no response at all; it now summons the standard unusable item dialog.

• Player no longer twitches while entering cheat codes.
• Restored use of ~ or Esc to toggle between World and Inventory windows.
• Fixed issue where time display did not update when loading a saved game.
• Save anywhere cheat code no longer allows saving on "The Labyrinth" or "OK, Who Else Wants Some?".
• Floor and ceiling textures are now displayed at the correct orientation.
• Game launches with first occupied save slot selected; pressing Return activates Begin button (just as in original).
• Possible rare freeze when entering "The Labyrinth" addressed.

The Labyrinth sphere distribution has been fixed; mostly for this reason. It's hooked up to the OS RNG now, which should not have the interaction the previous one did; there is also a (very generous) maximum iteration count for the placement process.

• Title banner restored to all alert boxes.
• Dialog fonts changed.

The two largest remaining cosmetic differences with the original.

• Key controls obey system keyboard layout.

Hopefully this will address the French keyboard issue.

• Handling of typed input in conversation window now accurate to original game.

You may now ask corpses "poopy pants" to your hearts' content. Thanks to everyone who brought this up and provided information about it (that goes for every issue listed here, to boot).
