If the issue exists in Pathways 2.0, clearly they didn't :P

I sort of like how sometimes when you enter the Labyrinth you get immediately bumrushed and sometimes the place is completely quiet and lets you run around for a bit getting curious and anxious before you get zapped.

Incidentally, from comments in the source, this bug may date all the way back the Minotaur:
