Hey you are playing with the latest version of M1A1. Congratulations. ;)
You are right, the three switches work in M1A1. I believe it was a limitation in the original engine that prevented these from working correctly (Treellama or Hopper will no doubt correct me if I am wrong). While it is strictly non-canon to have all three work it's one of those things that makes sense (IMHO) to fix. The same with the lava areas on 'Try again' that do no damage. These got fixed because it made sense to fix them. Of course you could take this to the extreme and start fixing the open windows etc. And then you would have to unfix all the external views that were added in M1A1, particularly on the Pfhor ship levels. These were added in the original version of M1A1 because they were not correctly added in the original game. Presumably because of the rush to get the game out. Unraveling the ball of thread that is M1A1 would be a mammoth task. Better to wait for the Holy Grail... Aleph One running the original M1 assets. :) Cheers
