I haven't done any crystal testing here, but I can give you the internal 'quantity' fields associated with each in the initial item locations. This field stores the number of bullets in each magazine, so it makes sense it might be related to the charges left.

Yellow Crystal: 300
Blue Crystal: 60
Orange Crystal: 60
Violet Crystal: 60
Green Crystal: 360
Black Crystal: 10

A future test is to save in between uses, to see how the numbers change. I'm also curious to see what numbers Pathways into Cheating puts into these fields when it gives you crystals.
