Aye. Just looking at the use of map images in M2, you can see that Bungie began labeling them with the Pfhor font which couldn't be done using the old M1 checkpoint system. I presume that they felt this added to the game's atmosphere (you were hacking the Pfhor network so having maps with Pfhor text added realism). Cheers
