: series. And that's partly right; without FoR's backstory the Chief is just
: the generic invincible marine who gets armor because he's the hero, and
: you'd be totally in the dark in H3 when Cortana starts quoting verbatim
: from the book and babbling on about a coin. The games depend on the books
: just as much as they contradict them.

: proportion, but it's silly to act like they don't have a complaint.
I suppose if I were more interested in the books, I might be more likely to complain. But I would also be likely to hold the games as more true regardless as to whether I considered the books canon. But to me, personally, Halo is not a franchise, it's a game, and a game made by Bungie that I like. And all the stuff surrounding it is shit that I don't really care about. This will probably include whatever games Microsoft decides to make in the franchise later on.
