OK, found the problem. By one measurement, your films are invalid. Marathon 2 has code that checks to make sure there are no empty chunks, which each of your films contains. But, by another measurement, they're fine. Marathon 2 saved the films in the first place, and Bungie disabled all runtime checks before shipping Marathon 2. Anyway, disabling those same checks in Aleph One allows it to play your films to the end, so I guess that's our answer.
