If you go so far as to say that energy is escaping into another reality, I'm not sure if that law really applies anymore, unless there are parts to it that I'm unaware of.
I suppose if a black hole sucks in mass, and connects to another universe, one could presumably use them to reduce the mass in this universe. But my understanding of a black hole is that it simply retains its mass within a point that is infinitely small, so it seems like creating more black holes would only concentrate mass, without actually reducing it. If anything, it might increase the chances of the universe collapsing on itself.
