I think the PiD intro in Aleph One was a joke. That wasn't there in M1. If you recall, in PiD you enter with a broken rifle, and empty gun, and a knife. I'd go for the Thermopylae angle on this one. It's entirely possible that you could have been born on Mars, turned into a battleroid, and invaded Onicis 492 in that war before being placed in cryo, awaiting a time of need.
