Yes i know that. There is a theory that the Security Officer is the reanimated Sgt. Eddings. I have also heard that there are many clues in Marathon that he is Sgt. Eddings reanimated.
For all we know when Sgt. Eddings died (of natural causes or was killed)they invented cryo technology. They used it to preserve his body until needed. Then later in the 22nd century it is unfrozen and built into a battleroid into which it is put into cryo for future use. Now we know battleroids were created also using Jjaro technology. The question is how did the humans get there hands on Jjaro technology? Maybe when the Jjaro came to Earth after the PiD incident and beamed the dreaming god (which can be the W'rknacnter (yes i know i spelled it wrong)) out they gave some of there technology to the humans. So when Sgt. Eddings became a battleroid they put implanted memories into him like how his father died and he was born on Mars. But there are still things which he does in Marathon that are familer to him, as if from some old dream but he cant exactly remember.
This is just my opinion on who the Security Officer is. You are entitled to your own as well. There are a few lines in the Marathon manuel in which i think it gives clues that he is Sgt. Eddings.
