In Response To: Re: A name for the player-character? (Fresnel) : I missed a clue. "Arther Frane, USEC Marathon" This man isn't navy,
Some of these lines in Punctuation are what is in the Marathon Manuel. This is just some of the stuff i was posting on the Pfhorums (a Marathon forum)in which i was discussing with people about this theory.
Also the line when he pounds on he door and pulls out his gun: "You pull out your pistol, and pound the switch to open the door. Oddly , this is familiar to you, as if it were from an old dream, but you can't exactly remember... "
Now there is 2 explanations for this of why this is familiar to him. 1. The Battleroids were used first to attack some people in an Asteroid. Maybe entering the Marathon is familiar to how he entered the Asteroid in the past with his buddy's. But we are not told if he participated in that operation. 2. It reminds him of entering the Pyramid (in PiD) alone, against a hostile force and with only a pistol.
Also is the PiD part at the Beginning of M1A1 considered Canon? We are told in the Marathon Manuel that the Security Officer was daydreaming before he entered the Marathon. He was daydreaming about his past life on Mars and his Fathers death (that had to be implanted memories since he was not born on Mars and if he is Sergeant Eddings then he was born on Earth. Im guessing when the Cyborg was created the creators tried to erase Edding's memories and implanted new ones. But we know the human scientists were not fully successful on this and that why some of these experiences are familiar to what he did in PiD. I hope if Bungie makes Marathon 4 they can reveal more on the Backgrounds of the Security Officer)
