A name for the player-character? | ||

I was looking up things on the Marathon Story boards, doing some research in my off-time, when I ran across a terminal in "You're Wormfood, Dude." It says:
Station hull breached, we are losing pressurization. More than half the men are without vacuum suits. Patrols reporting intruder, last location unknown. Any USEC controlled ship surviving nova event, transport when ready. Arther Frain calling.
Now, that sounds like an interesting and revealing message. It drops three names. Arthur Frain is one of them. It sounds like he's a guy in command. "Chief Petty Officer" is equal in pay grade to Master Sergeant. Sounds to me like Frane is the highest man up right now, so he's taken control for the time being. Now, he drops two other names. Commander Robert Blake. We all know who Blake is. He's the leader of the humans from Tau Ceti. He's probably also the leader of the ground forces on Lh'owon. He's a very important man in this battle. The third name, and by far the most interesting to me, is "Security Chief Jones." Now, we all know a security officer, don't we? And you, being the best shot and the strongest of all the crew of the Marathon are a shoe-in for Security Chief. Now... how many security chiefs are important enough to have their name called along with Commander Robert Blake? I can think of one. Could the player-character have a last name now? Also, I just noticed that Arther Frane misspelled not only his own name once, but he also wrote "USEC" every time, not "UESC". Panic, perhaps? And only one intruder? Perhaps it's funny voice transcription software?
