True story. I just played Deus Ex on the PS2 and I attempted Half-Life for the PS2 a couple years ago. Played some friends who were good with a keyboard hooked up for me on a USB slot. There was absolutely no contest. The advantage wasn't in the complexity (because, let's face it, in Half-Life you can jump, duck, use, quick switch, reload, and that's it) but in the mouse and even in the finer control you can manage in movement (translation, not orientation) with the keyboard.
