Here's the thing. Sure, it went open source...however, if they were to rewrite the game, that is, remake the existing engine...wouldn't that put them in the clear? At the very least, HD is a guarantee on the 360, so they'd have to overhaul every texture and sprite in the game HARDCORE. Plus, it would surely add Xbox Live functionality, which would surely work better than aleph one. And why rename the game to Marathon: Durandal, and not Marathon 2: Durandal?

I'm hoping the entire trilogy has been turned into one giant supergame...or at least the first two games. I mean, sure, it's a bit confusing, but seeing as Durandal IS the driving force in all three games, it's not necessarily inaccurate.
