This analysis was, in the end, excellent, although I had a chuckle over the vehemence with which particular views were espoused since I knew the layout of the bridge going in. Charles was somehow spot on there, despite his wall of text. : Kind of random: Deep Thoughts... reminds me how disappointing it was that : Cortana's odd behaviour in AotCR never panned out into anything : particularly sinister. I really hope H3 reveals that the data overload : massively shortened Cortana's life expectancy, and as a result she's : secretly come up with a drastic plan to end the war (or/and keep 117 : safely out of it) before she dies. I think Halo and Halo 2 put enough inconsistencies into Cortana's behavior to support this. I also have the impression that the utilization of the Blake references from the Cortana Letters signals at least a thematic return to the inscrutable and idiosyncratic AI characters from Marathon and the Letters. One can hope. Cortana is cool, but doesn't have anything on Durandal. Thanks for the history lesson.
