Problem Playing Infinty

Every once in a while as I'm playing the 2nd best entry to the Marathon saga, I run into a problem that is becoming quite annoying. When I die, and try to restart from the last save, or enter a new chapter of the story, a little white box pops up saying: "A game related error occured while attempting to read from your map or saved game file. ID=4". Does anyone know why this happens? Or what I can do to stop it? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
