Yep. Marathon is the first video game I can remember playing. My dad was pretty cautious about gore though, so he hacked the shapes file to make it so that all the dead baddies merely turned into one pixel of goo and fell. Thinking about it now reminds me of MegaMan...
Marathon ? was the first game I started beating my dad at. He used a game pad and I discovered the glory of keyboard + mouse and the ability to sidestep.
Ah... the memories of childhood...
