I don't think I've ever completed this scenario ... I remember getting completely stuck as to what to do next somewhere near the end. I've downloaded it again and will try to follow as this goes. Just one thing - running AlephOne SDL on OS X, I don't see the terminal graphics, just 'image ... was not found' - is there something else I need to do? I think I remember this being an issue before as well.
As for the first level, I also quite liked the way it introduced the scenario and everything. The only annoyance is that one often has to repeat it several times as there's quite a way to go on the next level to get to a pattern buffer, and it's not that easy :) ... not helped in the least by Total Carnage....
