This happens to mine, too. Here's what you should take note of:

1. AO on OS9 *ONLY* runs in Millions of colors. Anything else nukes the color scheme for your entire computer.

2. Go into Monitors in the Control Panel, select Colors, and then re-select the proper color scheme to fix your color system.
