Having used Bungie.org forums with dialup for 4.5 years: They don't suck. I like not having to load a whole page of (arbitrarily long and stupid) posts when there's only one I actually want to read.

Besides, most of the time I click on a thread, wait for it to load, and read through it, only to find it contains nothing of value or interest. On B'org forums, I can determine that instantly, by scanning the poster names and subject titles.

Almost all "flat forums" have lots of images and signatures and even Flash. I don't ever want to try using Bungie.net on dialup.

Using iCab's "download to web archive" option does help. Without it, I wouldn't be able to save B'org threads to read offline.
