I don't think they will offer more than a cursory glance at Marathon, or anything before Halo for that matter. It will essentially be a "making of Halo2" thing, with everything before Halo 1 taken care of before the first commercial break, then a mention of how Halo 1 brought them success, then after that, all Halo 2. Did anybody see the one about id? it was basically a 30 minute blowjob for Doom3. they never even mentioned Doom2. It was silly.
