Well a little bit of both :P Only joking, transparent landscape textures are pretty neat if you want to make a "reflection" texture on a wall. Or even better; if you want to have water which reflects the sky above. The person working on IDA had requested this some time back. I did too back when the A1 project had just started but noone cared, bah!
