True, but at least you wouldn't have to rely on Bungie's original installer working, and you wouldn't need a program to read the disk image as posted on Underdogs.

Okay, a revised plan: both packages use M2 Shapes for Aleph One, but one has M2 map and M2 hi-res textures, and the other has MI demo map and MI hi-res textures. In the MI package, the textures would be completely different between software and hardware mode.
Third-party maps work the same with both packages, but if you use the hi-res textures, it's preferred to use M2 maps with the M2 textures and MI maps with the MI textures.
