Andromeda, there is no such thing as a statute of limitations on being a Marathon fan. We geet noobs here all the time, most of whom stumbled onto the forum from doing a Google search for things related to Halo. In fact you can find several threads on HBO dealing specifically with getting Marathon up and running on a PC - something that wasn't even possible until a couple years ago. And if you read all those When Did You First Play posts, you'll discover that quite a few of us didn't start until at least a few years after the game was out. My first Marathon game purchase was the Mac Action Sack, and that's true of a lot of the readers of the forum. So while a lot of people like to brag about playing the game forever, a lot of the more rabid fans came to the game rather late.
And this is a forum of fanatics. It's an advanced users forum by its nature because it deals with the intricacies of the Marathon story. But to say you're not a real fan because you weren't around back in the good old days is absolutely absurd.
