In Response To: PF Volunteers - Planes, Trains & Automobiles (Steve Levinson) : Curiously, they
Those two opening Troopers will definitely follow you back to the beginning. As for the other enemies around the PB, Steve is right. They generally won't come down the stairs and only shoot at you if you get close enough. However, I have had some of them get knocked down the stairs from enemy fire. In that case, they WILL follow you back down the hallway to the beginning of the level. Those enemies do have an advantage for the player. After activating all of them, I use all of their shots intended for me to take down the Beast that guards the hallway. It's large enough to get in the way of almost anything that is fired down the hallway. The Beast will not ascend the stairs to attack the other enemies, yet will not come all the way down the hallway to attack the player. It's really one big sitting duck. It doesn't take long before the Trooper grenades and fighter bolts defeat it. : you can dodge out,
It's also fairly easy to get one of those Troopers to berserk. It will take out the rest. : open the center door
Yes there is a definite slowing of action in this room. I suppose it has to do with all of the trees as contributing toward the total monster count, much as we saw in The Grey Behind the Red. : In any case, these will take you to rooms under the overlooks,
Two things about these large rooms. Firstly, only one of them has any enemies in it. Seems to me there ought to be some enemies guarding the second switch. Secondly, as for the room that does have enemies, I had a noticable monster freeze problem there as well. It's usually not as bad as the forest room, but both times I played, the Wasps in this room were very lethargic.
