The issues I'm trying to balance here are, in no particular order:
1) Shipping the whole thing as one, preinstalled package so that Halo newbs can just DL and play. (When the SDL version is done). I want to capitalize on Marathon's new extended fan base.
2) Having the default full install look good so said Halo newbs don't just go "ew lores" and toss it.
3) Keeping file size small so people with crappy connections can download it.
4) Allowing people to upgrade or downgrade their textures to fit their machine's abilities and their quality standards.
5) Not shipping three whole, identical packages which differ only in texture size.
I think I'm gonna stick with shipping hires textures with the Full Install and lores with the Updater Pack, and letting people upgrade or downgrade as they please. Most people who need the Full Install will have better computers and connections and higher quality standards. Most people with crappy connections and old computers who don't mind lores textures probably already own Infinity and can just download the updater.
