Please see my post below about reducing bit-depth and landscape resolution. Up until last week my primary machine was an original G4 Ti PB with only an 8MB Rage 128 - I had the advantage of a much faster processor, but VRAM is what counts for texture mapping. I've played M2 and Infinity through with the 512 X 512 textures (not recommended for less than 16MB VRAM) and except for a few lethal slow-downs, performance was acceptable.
