If it's s'posed to be "You're an ass," then it should be "tu asinus es." Though that can be shortened to "asinus es" -- the second-person singular address is contained within the conjugation of "esse" already. O' course, there's nothing wrong with explicating that the subject is "tu," but it isn't necessary and it was quite often omitted.
