: In my opinion, you wouldn't be able to travel past the time of your death,
: because, well, by the act of getting inside that Magical Time Device, you
: would be removing yourself from the affairs of the present, right? The way
: I'm thinking of it is as if you were flash frozen today and unthawed 3000
: years later. Anyone watch Futurama? I'm thinking of something like that.
: Who knows, maybe later that day, you were going to be walking on a bridge
: that collapses, but now you've changed (I hate the word) destiny. Unless
: your Magical Time Device is something that travels through other
: dimensions and/or universes (spelling?) I doubt that one would be able to
: go into the future and be a mourner at one's own funeral.
We're going pretty far off-topic here, but I don't see why you couldn't visit your own funeral so long as you then returned to the past in time to die at the appointed time.
