Right, and long before the Jjaro even existed (at least, "the Jjaro" in the sense of a biological race that evolved on Earth, not the ones who escaped the universe and have always existed because they are outside of time now). The Jjaro grew up right on top of a W'rk, and suddenly it starts waking up and weird shit starts happening (like the Organics) and they go WTF!? and can't figure out what to do so they shoot big stuff at it and it goes to sleep again... though some of it's creations remain. : However, I do see what you mean by it contradicting Pita and friends cannon
The Nahk are the only other race ever explicitly called a Jjaro client race. Would make a nice reference to our poor extinct friends, too, only ever mentioned once before, and in the same terminal as your rogue star too... Perhaps mention that the Jjaro created the Nahk explicitly and seeded them on non-original worlds, that is to say, worlds that were not homeworlds to native creatures and thus W'rk dens. That would explain why the Pfhor could blow up their stars and not release any W'rkncacnter. : True enough. I'd like to keep that genetic development aspect to parts of
Right, they probably already had some level of it even before their civilization fell. Though the one thing I wonder is - and I don't want to poke huge holes in your story or anything - according to M2, this star has been passing through our galaxy for about a thousand years. That means that if the Jjaro were mucking around on it before they even came to Lh'owon, then they were mucking around on it well outside of our galaxy, since the star wouldn't have been here yet. Maybe that's why they picked this star, now that I think about it - if you're doing dangerous stuff, do it away from anything that could get hurt by it. Then over the aeons the star slowly drifted into our galaxy... |
