: Maybe as much as $15-20 US if it looks as cool as I think it will
: I'm still not sure it would really look metalic, but assuming it does,
: perhaps $10-15 US.
Apparently, that's going to be the price range for any production of the clear/frosted ones. Even the metalic additives have apparently gone up in price, closing the cost difference between the metalic and clear/frosted options of polyurethane.
: Out of curiosity, could they be customized (eg. etched with our initials),
: and how much would that cost?
Strange how everyone wants things with their name of them... as far as I know - and Mr. Swan can correct me on this - Polyurethane doesn't etch well. I'd think it would be like etching the back of an action figure or CD player. Possible, yes - beautiful? No. Besides, this would be an dual sided keychain - where would you put your initials?
To build the etch into the mold - costly, as each piece would obviously have to be made for each customer.
I really do want to create these keychains - yet the cost / profit margin is just so very thin ... eek. I'm not making a huge haul off T-shirts mind you, but the production of them is at least at arms reach, and doesn't involve chemicals to any real extent.
I'll see how things pan out with my ongoing correspondance with Mr. Swan.
