In Response To: Pfhoraphobia problem (Lachesis)

: I don't know if this is an appropriate forum to ask this question, but I'm
: going to anyway because I've been stuck for about a week, and I need help.

: I bought the Action Sack 2 weeks ago and loaded up an updated Aleph One.
: Everything runs fine under OpenGL at hi-res, and I start moving through
: the game. I'm on Pfhoraphobia now, and I'm stuck there. I've killed
: everything on the level, including the cyborg that controls the S'pht, and
: searched out the whole map. I've double-checked it against the map that's
: posted on marathon.bungie.org/spoiler/, and I've updated Aleph One and
: it's MML scripts.

: But no matter what I do, when I stand in front of the only window on the
: level that I can see the Marathon from, I don't get teleported to the next
: level. I'd really like to be able to play the last few levels and move on
: to M2. Am I missing something?

Looking at the map, I can find these locations that must be visited to leave the level:

  • The far end of the southern ambush room off the starting area (it's in the back, circle the entire room).
  • The two branches of the farthest east area on the map, enter both of them.
  • The path to the teleporter at the bottom of the very tall elevator.
  • The far end of the white corridor just before reaching the cyborg's room.
  • Both monster ambush alcoves, just before reaching the cyborg's room. Enter both of these far enough to touch the back wall.
  • The corridor that curves around the northeast end of the map. Follow it from the small door to the point where it splits in two, that should get the polygon.
  • A polygon just to the east of the window you are trying to teleport out of. Turn right, go directly around the corner, and down towards the door in the south to hit it.
  • A polygon on the opposite side of the large circular thing from the previous polygon, in the area with the 2 columns. Run a figure-eight around them, that should cover it.

It's possible there are some I missed, but maybe there are some there you hadn't found?

Also, remember that it is not enough to simply see the polygon and have it appear on the map, you have to actually step into it for it to register as explored.
