: OMG... maybe I was wrong... maybe the Jjaro (who are AIs, you know) didn't
: create themselves from a previous biologican form... maybe the Nar created
: them! Perhaps to defend themselves against the W'rkncacnter, who should
: have been very active them.
: Or maybe Rob was just joking.
I know this is an ancient thread now, but I just came across it bored at work... The only way the Nar could have "sprung into being" a week after the universe was created is via time travel. In which case it's entirely possible that they did have some interaction with the Jjaro. The only thing that really stands out as odd about them now is the fact that they seem fairly low-tech for such an old and apparently time-travel-capable race. Coal-powered battle wagons?
It would be interesting to see a Marathon story or scenario exploring some of the lesser-touched-upon elements of the Marathon universe. What about the Pfhor religion, and what is this Hindmost Creche, or the Holy Mother Crouched Behind the Throne? Some kind of Pfhor Queen? (a creche is a nursery, mother obviously links in to that, and the Holy part indicates that she is a part of the "pathetically boring" Pfhor religion). What of the Vylae, and Leela's fate? And of course the Nar?
