At one point, I concluded that their planet was protected by some magical Jjaro shield when it was sent back. But I wouldn't want to go so far as to say it stayed up for 10+ billion years to protect them from the Pfhor.

A somewhat simpler solution would be if a "week" had a completely different definition for them. Or, the Nar Chronicles were not written from a neutral/omniscient point of view.
