First of all, AO is unforgiving with respect to file types and is not even compatible with the standard M2/Infinity file type for music files. Speaker - can something be done about this? In the meantime, all music files used with AO must have a file type of AIFF. You can use any program that can edit file creator and type codes, such as FileBudy or SuperGetInfo, to change the file types to AIFF. Ironically, these will still work with M2/Infinity.
Secondly, make sure you have the appropriate EMR script in your Scripts folder, or music won't be the only thing you're missing. Note, the old link on the Marathon Open Source page no longer works, which is why the above link is to my own site. Be warned, however, that there are still engine modifications in EMR that have never been scripted for AO, hence, you'll be invincible to knight sward swipes, making the game a lot easier in AO than in the original Infinity version.
