OK, I've had a chance to use GraphicConverter's batch processing to convert these to JPEG's with a 50% compression factor. Zipped (for the benefit of our PC readership), the complete package is now only 9.2 MB. I've tried these out and, frankly, find no major difference in performance or appearance when compaired to the original PNG's. And I only have the crapp 8MB ATI graphics card that came in the original PB G4's. There are definitely times when the frame rate drops to near zero, particuarly when loading additional textures, but this is generally brief and otherwise the game is fully playable, even with such pathetic hardware.

If there is interest (need I ask?), I will upload these for the benefit of all. I don't have even this kind of room on my server, however, so I'll first contact the original author to see if they would be willing to include this version on their site.
