I definitely think that you've hit on something. Who the hell really knows if there are going to be any true, tangible connections, but this theory is actually quite interesting. Bungie may have just put the little Marathon references in when they were feeling a little nostalgic, but maybe not. Maybe the one hankering for nostalgia was actually....well.....you know who I'm talking about.
