In Response To: Re: Everyones most *hated* marathon monster (Pedrof) : I agree with Ojo, I hate those damned tank cyborgs. On my old LCII, at 1fps,
Ahh.... I know what you're talking about, man. These days I've got a rev. C iMac and a PowerMac 6500 to play the Marathon trilogy on, but back then.... all I had, for a LONG time, was an old Performa that played Marathon 1 like this: ==V I E W - - - - - - S T I L L A L I E N --- I N -- M O T I O N === == K --- A ---- =---B A M! ---K ------- --- - -- A--- B - - A - - M!!!! ===== I, and my two brothers, cheerily romped through the good old Marathon at about 1 frame per second. If you saw an enemy, there was a one or two second pause while the game would register this. Fighting was essentially trying to predict where enemies would be in the next few seconds, and happening to both point that direction AND fire a lot in said direction to hopefully kill them. The whole thing was like some awful slideshow. I am not exaggerating, it really was that S ------ L- ----- O ----- W. Ahhh.... the memories. :) |
